Arguably, the natural healthy state of a person is happiness. Depression is an alteration of the natural state. This alone means hope for people. The way we look and connect emotions to events
As Monthy Phyton said in the movie ” the life of Brian” always look at the bright side of life. How do we perceive and how are our emotions connected to our events of the past and how do we perceive the future?
Everybody has a past and it can be a burden, filled with guilt, regret, sadness, painful experiences, missed opportunities etc. or it can be just our past and that’s all. People who don’t suffer form depression see most of the time their past as something that is behind them, lessons learned, some scars, happy moments, feedback on events. People who suffer from depression still live their past, it is not behind them.
In this treatment we focus on disconnection from the past, living in the now and future.
Parts therapy is a way of reconciling ambivalence. Often, people can get stuck between two opposing goals. For example, a person wants and deserves to feel protected from harm in life, however when a person’s subconscious over-protects them, they can be at risk of missing out on life altogether. There is an acceptable risk in life that we take simply by leaving our houses.
Parts therapy is all about finding an appropriate balance. Parts can also come into play when we talk about the different persona’s that people use in differing social circumstances. For example, a person can be either a mother or a father, in which persona they modify their choice of words and communication depending on the age of their child. The way you would speak in a job interview, to a friend or to a six year old would all require the mind to change from one persona to the next.
Parts therapy slows down the process of communicating with the sub conscious so that one part at a time can be spoken to. At the highest possible level, all parts of a person exist for their highest possible protection. Some parts are using successful strategies while other parts are using lesser techniques.
Whether a person is torn between being a smoker or non smoker or making any decision at all, both parts want what will provide the most amount of protection. A smoker may feel that they do not want to give up their only method of dealing with stress. A person wanting to lose weight may feel that they do not want to give up their sexual protection.
Until a person can resolve their internal conflict and find harmony between their desires and internal strategies, they will not find happiness. This is where Parts Hypnotherapy has been very effective for many people experiencing ambivalence.
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy or CBT is made up of many things. Behavior is the key ingredient in outcomes. How a person behaves will dictate many of the rewards and benefits that a person receives in life.
Outside of uncontrollable circumstances, most of life is made up of choices and outcomes. For example, when a person’s goal does not align with their outcome, such as a person who wants money, love, a house etc… but is going the opposite way about getting those things, they have a cognitive dissonance.
CBT can be as simple as correct goal setting strategies and life coaching. CBT is becoming a more and more popular part of Hypnotherapy, as many people are finding that the better you externalize your life plan, the better the chances of your success. Much of people’s communication is still taken up with Generalizations, Deletions, Distortions, manipulations etc…
These forms of communication mostly give little to no rewards. Hypnotherapy is a clarification model. I encourage anyone to become clearer about what it is that they really want in life and to have the courage to write it down in detail. Hypnotherapy is often seen as a short cut to creating a life plan.
There is no English translation for Gestalt. In its essence, Gestalt therapy is designed as a holistic treatment for the mind. By asking the subconscious itself what it wants, we can increase the chances of jumping straight to a solution.
Often therapies within Gestalt such as past clearing, the empty chair technique and other integrations of NLP have surprised people at the speed of their recovery. Imagine being able to use the knowledge stored in your subconscious to be able to instantly point out what type of therapy would be the fastest path between where you currently are and where you would like to be in life.
